Sea: Piraeus Hydra

Hydra is reached only by fast passenger craft: no car ferry calls here. Three companies serve the route, all from Gate E8 (Hellenic Seaways also boards its Aero catamarans from nearby Gate E9, so read the gate on your ticket).

Who sails

Crossing

The published crossing time is 1 hour 5 minutes to about 2 hours 20, depending on whether the boat stops at Aegina or Poros. Hydrofoils are smaller and more affected by wind; they are the first to be cancelled on windy days, and Hydra — with no other sea link — loses its boats first in a blow.

Tickets and boarding

Book online or at the Gate E8 ticket booths, then collect the actual ticket at least 15 minutes (30 in high season) before sailing. Be on time: a boat that pulls away from E8 is rebooked at full price. Gates occasionally move, so read the one on your ticket.

Times and fares: see each company's own timetable. We deliberately do not copy euro amounts or sailing clocks onto this site.
